The Truth is that many of the seeds we plant may never produce fruit; but some will.

We have all heard about the parable of the sower. Remember? Some seeds fall on the path and the birds eat them up. Some fall among thorns, some on rocky places and some in good soil. Now even though Jesus is speaking about seeds the story really applies to people.

This post actually applies literally to the seeds that were planted. Richard and I planted our first garden and with careful attention and most importantly prayer, our garden thus far has been a success! We like to hang out in our garden! Our neighbors actually make fun of us for it too. But we feel so blessed that we have been able to produce our own vegetables we often give thanks to God right there in the midst of our lettuce and spinach as we gorge on peas and carrots.

"So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor." 1 Cor. 3:7-8






Here is our version of Haystacks. We were able to use Cilantro, peas, carrots, lettuce, and mint out of our garden.


I'm not sure if Valerie is telling us she is two or trying to disco like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever! :)


I'd like to think we were in obedience to God when he sent Jeremiah to talk to those living in Babylon when he says "build houses and live in them; and plant gardens and eat their produce." Jeremiah 29:5
